July 17, 2024, @ Philip Read Memorial Library - 6:30 PM
Matt Forrest Esenwine, local author, Warner NH.
As a way to supplement libraries' participation in the CSLPReads program (this year's theme being "adventure at the library!"), I'm offering a one-hour presentation that will include my Kirkus-starred Flashlight Night (Astra Young Readers, 2017) and my newest picture book, The Thing to Remember about Stargazing (Tilbury House, 2023) which, as you know, came out this past Oct. and which has been featured at more than 20 StoryWalks® across the state!
In addition to reading the books, I will share some behind-the-scenes pictures and info about Flashlight Night (where projection systems are available) and a constellation craft based on Stargazing. Children will be given a piece of dark construction paper, a light-colored crayon or marker, and star stickers. After arranging the stickers on the paper (or simply drawing stars, if they prefer), they can connect them like dots to create their constellation! I'll provide the stickers, so libraries would only need to provide the paper and crayons.
