Join author and former New Hampshire Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky for an engaging talk on his new book, The Last Bake Sale, at the Meriden Library on June 26, 2025, at 6:00 PM.
In The Last Bake Sale, Volinsky delves into the decades-long struggle for equitable school funding in New Hampshire, chronicling his involvement in the landmark Claremont school funding lawsuits. The book examines how inequities in education finance impact communities and explores the broader implications for housing, demographics, and social justice. Described by the Library Journal as “an essential addition to any library’s collection,” the book offers insights relevant not only to New Hampshire but to education systems across the United States .
Volinsky will share stories from the book, discuss the ongoing challenges in achieving fair school funding, and answer audience questions. This is a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from one of the key figures in New Hampshire’s education reform movement.
Admission is free, and all are welcome. For more information, please contact the Meriden Public Library or visit the Plainfield Libraries' events calendar.
