  • FLOWER POT LUCK     

    The Friends of Philip Read Memorial Library are holding a free FLOWER POT LUCK on Tuesday August 19, 2025 at 6:00pm at the Philip Read Memorial Library.

     At this free pot luck you will create a flower arrangement to adorn your home.

     Bring some flowers to share with others and a vase or other container (that will hold water) to create your arrangement in.  

    Bring flowers from your garden or field or meadow, all can be used.  They don’t need to be perfect.  Some flowers will be provided but more and a variety of flowers are a great addition.

  • From Doormats to Dynasty to Doormats: A Patriots Celebration Presentation

    From the struggles of the Boston Patriots to the decades of Super Bowl crowns, this lively and illuminating program will take you on a roller coaster ride through the history of the franchise that has captured more crowns than any other. Author and veteran sports writer Marty Gitlin, who covered the NFL in the newspaper field and for CBS Sports, will discuss and show videos of the greatest and most interesting players, teams, events and moments of the team since its birth in the American Football League in 1960. Watch the exploits of such early standouts as Gino Cappelletti and Babe Parilli, relive the disappointment of the Jim Plunkett era and talents of Steve Grogan and Sam “Bam” Cunningham. Experience again the transition from Drew Bledsoe to Tom Brady. And enjoy greatest highlights from the Greatest of All Time under Bill Belichick, including Super Bowl triumphs.     June, July, and August. Come and visit with other local seniors. Bring games, puzzles, or hand crafts like knitting if you like. Coffee provided.

  • Tuesdays 10-11 am at PRML

    Parents (and legal guardians, grandparents, or caregivers) and kids (babies up to school age) are welcome to drop in for this play group, held each week on Tuesdays from 10-11 AM.  This parent-organized program provides an opportunity for young children to socialize and play with others and gives parents and guardians the opportunity to meet and connect with each other.

    The program is open to all ages, with activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Parents and caregivers are asked to pack a snack for their kids.

    Parents (and legal guardians, grandparents, or caregivers) will have access to coffee because you need it if you have little ones!

    Please come with your device(s) and all necessary passwords. We can take this time to make sure you are
    set up properly to take advantage of all the library has to offer, or to help you get up and running with your
    email program, social media, and the like. If we can’t help you, we’ll find an answer or point you in the direction of finding it yourself. We hope you’ll take advantage of this new service. If the time is not right for you, just let us know and we can set up an appointment.
